Do you have a chimney cap that is rusted out? Or perhaps the flashing around your chimney has begun to fail. Regardless of the issue at hand, we can help you out with our chimney repair services. We understand how chimney components should work, and how the exterior portion of your chimney should connect to your roof system to ensure that your home doesn’t endure leaks. We’ll do our utmost to make sure that your chimney is structurally sound, and to ensure that your roof and chimney are protected from the elements. Count on us for a chimney inspection and repair.
If your chimney’s brick and mortar have seen better days, then it may be time to hire out tuckpointing services. If you have a chimney whose bricks are crumbling, and whose mortar is recessed towards the center of the brick, then the structure of your chimney may be liable to fail.
We can tuckpoint your chimney to give it lasting protection from the elements once again. We apply specialized mortars to match the color of your brick, and we’ll apply mortar to your brick and the deteriorated mortar layers between your brick, providing support for your entire exterior chimney structure.
If you have an older chimney, then it may be performing poorly atop your home. Nowadays, brick and mortar simply aren’t the sole standard when it comes to building a sound chimney top, and in fact, chimneys that are only built out of brick and mortar aren’t often up to code. Fortunately, most chimneys can be upgraded with retrofitting components that will provide better protection for your home, your roof, and the chimney itself. We can upgrade your chimney with a chimney crown (a cement crown can be applied on the top of your chimney for added protection), a chimney cap (chimney caps are metal caps that keep drafts, embers, pests, and precipitation from causing problems), new flashing (flashing protects the seams between your chimney and roof from leaks), and a chimney saddle if necessary (a type of flashing that helps to redirect precipitation away from the weakest point of a chimney). You can learn more about these individual components in our Chimney Service FAQ section below. We can even rebuild the top of your chimney if it is far too outdated!
If your chimney has deteriorated beyond the point where it can be tuckpointed, we can rebuild your chimney. Oftentimes, the top of a chimney will deteriorate far more quickly than any other portion of the chimney, due to its exposure to wind, temperature changes, and precipitation. And eventually, your chimney may crumble and fail. When you note that your chimney is losing chunks of brick and mortar, you can count on us to repair and rebuild your chimney with a new top that will last for decades on end.
